What Neutrality?

NOTE: All this is #RTEcensored, of course!

.
I have long written, often in detail, about how the continuing antics of Fianna Fail and Fine Gael continues to see what little vestiges of Irish neutrality there once was, have been quietly, deliberately withered down to nothing.
.
In full truth, their aim to do just this, has been assisted by the Labour Party and as you will see, once again by the Green Party through their co-operation, their complete silence or inability to stop their previous (or current) government partners.
.
The latest round of silent, deliberate actions of national betrayal were just recently. …Not that you would know if you were just tuning into RTE setups or even your local radio stations!
.
More in truth, besides the likes of an investigative team (at home) from The Phoenix Magazine and occasionally, The Village Magazine, proper paper media investigation journalism has died a death. Many of such journalists are either (a) heavily censored by those above them, (b) stopped from investigating matters or (c) unwilling to report matters as they fear such reporting might affect their later chances of being hired as a government media advisor in some capacity? However, all that’s another ongoing issue. I digress.
.
Firstly, the public has not been told that the Department of Foreign Affairs’ (DFA) has given a submission to the government’s commission on defence demanding that the Defence Forces collaborate more closely with the EU (ie, Pesco and other EU military forces) and with Nato’s “Partnership for Peace” (PfP). Talk about ‘Doublespeak’ as George Orwell put it in “1984”. PR renaming for palatable reasons.
.
As many of you know – but vastly hidden from the majority of Ireland’s voters and younger of teen age, Ireland without a public referendum vote allowed, care of the usual guilty parties, has been enrolled into a number of things including “PESCO” – in short, an EU military setup that when you look under its PR and covers, blows away all remaining, once existing, remaining bites of Irish neutrality that once existed in the mouths of FF/FG elected covering their backside!
.
The very same day as the demand for our national forces to join up with other EU forces, the Irish Times quietly (fair play to them) reported that chief of staff Vice-Admiral Mark Mellett was demanding a rise in defence spending. No, this was NOT further reported by others. #censored? #buried?
.
Also, not widely told to the public is simple facts like our Irish military investment spending at home, amounts to a mere circa €1,000,000,000 (Billion) per year – or about 0.4% of national expenditure. However, what you are not also told is that because FF/FG (and other Dail enablers) have already signed us up to PESCO, our finances (taxpayer money) is additionally being exported to the EU military setup at greater amounts. A further €3 to €4 Billion Euro is being given away by Dail elected, to the EU PESCO setup in contributions.
.
In case you miss the message – this means that Ireland is (and has been for years) helping to buy military hardware not just for our home forces but for others too. From missiles to French/German fighter jets and more. No. Your usual elected and national RTE media are in no hurry to tell you this either.
.
The DFA submission demands that Ireland prepares as they put it, for “increasingly demanding overseas missions” and “specialised capabilities”. The latter should include “rapidly deployable units” and bomb disposable units”. What? You weren’t told this either?
.
All this has increasingly gone on since 2011 when modern Fine Gael sadly got their foot into government office again. Indeed, the 2015 white paper on defence and its 2019 updated version had contained (censored from public attention of course) the then foreign affairs and defence minister, Simon Coveney’s intention to increase defence spending. The PR double-speak, the PR renaming of matters related to loss of Ireland neutrality, has subsequently increased exponentially in white papers and rare media sound bites actually allowed.
.
Even better – or worse, depending on who you support – in 2017 Leo Varadkar when Taoiseach, told French president Emmanuel Macron that he supported the Frenchman’s plans for a European military force and a shared EU defence budget. After that, increasing amounts of taxpayer money has been secretly funnelled towards the EU military setup. A setup, I must stress, you are being deliberately told bugger all about.
.
While your local FF/FG TD once again bangs on about trying to find the money to embark on a much needed national building agenda, to solve a long increasing housing crises under their watch – maybe when you fall across them, you could ask also about their antics of quietly enabling the purchasing the likes of “rapidly deployable units” and other many things they (and RTE, etc) continue to keep buried from you in information!
.
That’s after you peacefully confront them on their undemocratic – no referendum ever allowed – antics of further pressganging Ireland and its citizens into many things, from the scandal filled #JobPath racket to #CETA and the EU military setup… True democracy be damned, eh!
.
Despite their silent antics, this ordinary, non-elected citizen will continue to monitor the ongoing situation on this issue too and continue to report back to you, as much as the devious and corrupt dislike me doing so! Trust me. They do!
